Facebook: Don Sabo for School District 57 Trustee
I have been community minded for quite a few years. In the past I have been a member of the Board of Directors for the Prince George Native Friendship Centre for 4 years. I was more recently a Board Director for the Prince George YMCA for 2 years. I am currently a member of the School District No. 57 Aboriginal Education Board.
I have always believed that education is critical to the success of my / our children. I have taken an active role in my child’s education by serving as a Pinewood Elementary School Parent Advisory Committee member for 5 years, and I have also been the Chairperson of the Prince George District No. 57 Parent Advisory Council for 3 years.
A large part of my work history / consulting career, consists of work within an Industrial Adjustment Services Program which was funded by the Province, Federal Government and Industry clients. The word Adjustment means change, so in a sense I have extensive experience; evaluating the need for change, implementing change, and managing change.
Some of the knowledge, skills and abilities I can bring to the school board table are; Leadership, team building, critical thinking and evidence based decision making, strategic planning, policy development, extensive communications background, and I am an outspoken advocate when it comes to education issues.
A vote for Don SABO on November 15th, is a vote for change and a vote for being inclusive.
